Beacon Resources, in partnership with our client in the South Bay region of Southern California, seeks a Cost Accountant to join an e-commerce home furnishings company.
Job – The Cost Accountant will perform a combination of cost accounting and general accounting tasks. You will report to an Accounting Manager.
Job Site Status (Remote/Hybrid/Onsite) – The role is remote at present, but within the next couple of months, the hired accountant will be working on site a couple of days/week.

Compensation/Benefits – Salary range begins at $80,000/year and increases depending on qualifications. A bonus is offered as well. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance coverage options. There are an unlimited # of PTO days.
COST ACCOUNTANT DUTIES
Cost Accounting
- Participate in all month-end closes involving inventory issues
- Input Journal Entries and Account Reconciliations into the General Ledger (G/L) as it involves inventory and fixed asset issues
- Support all other accounting personnel in physical inventory counts, including shrink counts
- Ensure all inventory counting and fixed asset assessment procedures comply with all relevant internal control systems
- Research all possible solutions to improve inventory accounting processes, including ways to reduce shrink counts
- Analyze variances in inventory (raw materials, finished goods) between stated and actual counts, including using the FIFO accounting method
- Contribute to the COGS and inventory budget
- Assist in establishing costing system in conjunction with ERP rollout
Corporate Accounting
- Support audit process
Miscellaneous
- Accept other various financial and accounting tasks as needed
COST ACCOUNTANT QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
- At least two (2) years of work experience in cost accounting
- Experience in a manufacturing and/or food production and/or Consumer Products Goods (CPG) environment
Preferred
- CPA
- Public Accounting experience

- Expert-level Excel proficiency (v-lookups, pivot tables, IF formulas, et. al)
- Expert-level Word proficiency
- Proficiency with an ERP system
