The Director of Product Marketing will drive GumGum's product go-to-market strategy across its media & data businesses globally. We are looking for a highly experienced leader with a track record of success in product marketing. Reporting to the Global CMO, the Director of Product Marketing will be expected to apply pragmatic framework methodologies to ensure a world-class strategy is applied and best-in-class execution methods are implemented across GumGum go-to-market initiatives.

As Director, you'll work with multidisciplinary, cross-organizational teams to add new products and tools to our existing offerings that serve our global customers. You will also serve as a senior member of our Global Marketing organization and own the strategy, roadmap, positioning, launch and management of our emerging products.

GumGum has an extensive suite of high-impact and standard display products, video, Over-The-Top (OTT), and Connected TV (CTV) solutions. All of these products are powered by our contextual data engine Verity™ and are available directly via our global sales team and programmatically.

Note: GumGum currently operates in a 'work from home' virtual environment with sporadic opportunities for in-person business and morale events (health guidelines permitting). There will not be any requirement to go into the office on a daily basis moving forward. GumGum is only open to hiring remote candidates who are residents in the following states: AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, NJ, NY, OH, OR, PA, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, and MN, however prefer candidates in New York.

What You'll Achieve

  • Market: Define market problems; perform win/loss analysis; identify distinct competencies; perform competitive analysis and asset assessment as needed.
    • Define strategy, product positioning, and messaging aligned with customer needs to help communicate the value of our solutions in the market.
    • Be the liaison between clients/sales and product managers and be able to translate market needs into new product opportunities.
    • Perform win/loss analysis to accelerate product advancements and buyer journey understanding.
    • Identify competitive and alternative offerings in the market, and assess and develop a strategy for winning against them.
  • Focus: Define and refine the market, product portfolio, and roadmap.
    • Set the strategic vision and guidance around a 3-year roadmap while directing day-to-day execution towards that vision
    • Map needs with target markets and revenue opportunities and works with Product to prioritize significant revenue streams.
    • Integrate products into a coherent portfolio and work with key stakeholders to manage it end-to-end (business plan; positioning; buying process; market requirements, and GTM plan)
    • Work with product to identify the roadmap by buyer type and ensure GTM process is clearly understood, goals set and milestones met across stages.
  • Planning: Craft positioning; buyer/user personas; and requirements/scenario planning
    • Focusing on the customer, creating internal positioning documents for marketing & sales focused on each buyer persona and how GumGum products solve their market problems.
    • Define and refine the buyer and user personas involved in the decisioning of and usage of GumGum's offerings and ensure that they are the primary focus of each roadmap and campaign launch.
  • Launch & Enablement: Oversee launch and enable sales with content, tools, and training.
    • Lead launch efforts working across colleagues in marketing and cross-functionally with sales teams to ensure success metrics as defined are met, and teams are empowered with what they need to succeed.
    • Provide world-class deliverables to differentiate GumGum in the market, including product positioning and messaging across the portfolio, website content; sales collateral; product naming; and competitive positioning.

Skills You'll Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or a related discipline or equivalent relevant work experience
  • 8-12 years of experience with Product Marketing and Digital Media
  • Demonstrated experience as a leader with proven ability to build creative, collaborative teams; develop people, and link performance to overall business objectives
  • Deep leadership experience in simultaneously leading high-performance teams and coordinating with senior executives and other stakeholders to accomplish complex goals.
  • Experience with determining product-market fit and delivering products to market
  • Proven experience launching new products and growing to a mature business
  • Experience in ad tech preferred
  • Experience in video, OTT/CTV highly preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, autonomously, and cross-functionally
  • A highly developed Project Management capability that relies on well-executed organization and a strong influencing ability
  • A highly analytical approach
  • Ability to lead and communicate cross-functionally with sales, marketing, product, engineering and other departments
  • Ability to easily transition from high level strategic thinking to creative and detailed execution
  • Experience in spoken word technology product management
  • Critical thinker and strong problem-solving skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • The ability to execute engaging and educational presentations
  • Self starter, charismatic, innovative, creative individual
  • A natural ability to take complex technical concepts and make them easy to understand non-technical stakeholders
