The front desk of any organisation holds great importance as it reflects the overall company's image. Be it a business or a hotel, front desk personnel is responsible for providing customers with a first impression - which is usually considered to be the last impression, especially if it is the hospitality arena.

Companies and hospitality settings employ people at many levels for the purpose of ensuring that a positive company image is maintained and projected. Even though the position of a front desk clerk is an entry level one, much is dependent on it. Front desk clerks perform one of the biggest jobs in a hotel which are checking guests in and out. This in itself is a huge responsibility which a front desk clerk needs to do with total professionalism while maintaining a pleasant demeanour. Some other important duties and responsibilities of a hotel front desk clerk include.

Job Responsibilities (But NOT Limited To)

    -Morning / Afternoon Shift.

    -THIS IS A FULL TIME POSITION, shift availability depends on hotel occupancy.

    -Greet guests and patrons as they arrive;

    -Handle guest check-ins and check-outs efficiently and in a professional manner, informing guests of hotel's facilities at time of registration (ie: Breakfast hours, etc);

    -Answer guest questions regarding local area facilities and be able to give proper directions to these areas;

    -Handle guest issues, complaints, and requests and pro-actively resolve in a manner satisfactory to both the guest and the hotel;

    -Coordinate with housekeepers to fulfil guest special requests;

    -Update room status and add maintenance item or notes in system;

    -Notify Housekeeping and Maintenance of any reported problems with rooms or grounds;

    -Handle reservation calls and make accurate future reservations when necessary;

    -Demonstrate proper telephone etiquette, transferring of calls, and taking accurate messages for guests and management;

    -Communicate with the incoming shift employees by logging pertinent information in the log book.

Full-time Salary: $18/hour. Benefits include free limited stays at the hotel, paid vacation, and more.

Schedule:

    -8 hour shift

Experience:

    -Hotel experience: 1 year (Preferred)

Language:

    -Spanish (Required)
