Full Job Description
Iconic lifestyle brand is seeking a new Manager of Licensing Sales for our Hardlines division. The ideal candidate is dynamic and possesses an entrepreneurial spirit and drive, diverse and proven experience in the world of Licensing Sales.
Our ideal candidate will be from the Toy/Gaming, Lifestyle or Fashion industries, will be self-motivated and driven. Highly adept at building strategies for long-term partnerships; able to contribute to the bottom line very quickly. Must exhibit the drive and the knowledge about how to hit the ground running with minimal down time.
What will you do?
•Be responsible for building and managing the hardlines business.
•Take on and meet the annual licensing revenue goal and operating profit goals.
•Manage a Licensing Associate.
•Establish strong relationships with existing licensees and identify new partners to continually strengthen our licensee base.
•Develop strategic recommendations for new business, identify licensee candidates to support new products and new category penetration and secure licensees with a strong track record of success developing new products.
•Analyze existing licensee business including sales comparison, sales forecasts and gap analysis on a regular basis.
•Work closely with licensees, manage the business and drive sales.
•Negotiate contract terms and audit findings.
•Be the key licensing contact for Creative, Retail, Brand and Finance teams.
•Support and manage business development opportunities with Retail group.
•Research key categories regularly to stay up to date on current innovations, trends and competitive initiatives and present findings.
•Help expedite internal processing of licensees? requests to meet our brand goals and maximize each licensee?s business potential.
•Track product and category success and identify opportunities for growth.
•Manage and streamline internal processes and communication (e.g. forecasting reports, gap analysis).
•Establish a good working relationship with internal cross-functional teams.
•Work effectively with the Creative team on product development.
•Day-to-day management of licensees.
•Manage budget.
•Prepare monthly reports and present to staff at all hands meeting.
•Follow up with licensees on monthly sales reporting, royalty payments, etc.
What you will bring to the table:
•Bachelor's degree preferred and 6+ years related licensing experience.
•Demonstrated experience and success with licensing management and sales.
•Well versed in product life cycle, and key category players.
•Proven success managing hardlines licensing in categories such as toys, collectibles, stationery, consumer electronics, sporting goods, seasonal, etc.
•Ability to develop and nurture relationships both internally and externally at all levels.
•You will have strong presentation, communication, networking and influencing skills.
•You have an innate ability to rely on knowledge and expertise to use independent judgment. and analytical skills to research, problem solve and make day-to-day business decisions.
•You are an amazing coach, effectively leading and developing subordinate staff.
•You are proficient with Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint).
