Job Description

About the role:

You will report to the Head of Manufacturing Sciences Fractionation. You will provide process support to the Fractionation manufacturing groups at the Los Angeles Facility. The Fractionation MS team solves adverse events within the B5 manufacturing facility by assisting our quality and manufacturing partners in troubleshooting issues, supporting regulatory inspections by explaining technical decisions to regulatory agencies, and maintaining process compliance.

How you will contribute:

  • Lead and guide yield and cycle time improvement projects

  • Work in small teams to implement experiments in the Manufacturing Sciences lab

  • Investigate and help evaluate product impact for process exceptions

  • Work with Manufacturing to help improve important metrics such as yields and capacity

  • Conduct regular meetings with the manufacturing group to communicate awareness of important metrics.

  • Track and trend yields in Building 5 and report on the important metrics

  • Use DMAIC tools in projects.

  • Liaison with Regulatory on projects requiring regulatory submissions

  • You should expect daily variability in tasks and challenges.

  • Both practical and theoretical knowledge of the purification of plasma proteins and biochemistry.

  • Good laboratory skills.

  • Understanding of GxP and related regulations

  • Six Sigma Greenbelt certification.

What you bring to Takeda:

  • Typically requires bachelors' degree in science, engineering or other related technical field. 2+ years of related experience

  • Strong Microsoft Office and Minitab skills.

  • Must be able to push/pull 50 lbs and lift/carry up to 25 lbs.

  • In general, the position requires a combination of sedentary work and walking around observing conditions in the facility.

  • Must be able to work in controlled environments requiring special gowning.

  • Will be required to follow gowning requirements and wear protective clothing over the head, face, hands, feet and body

  • No make-up, jewelry, nail polish or artificial fingernails may be worn in the manufacturing environment.

  • Will work in a cold and/or wet environment.

  • Can be expected to work multiple shifts, including weekends.

  • Non-Exempt Roles only: Must be able to work overtime as required.

  • May be required to work in a confined area.

  • Some Clean Room and cool/hot storage conditions.
