What you bring to nike

  • Bachelors degree in consumer insights, professional analytics, strategy, consulting or related field, or a combination of relevant education, experience, and training

  • 8+ years of proven experience

  • Degree or professional certificate in research, marketing, product management, or a design field a plus

  • Experience in data wrangling and strong SQL skills or similar experience analyzing large, structured datasets a plus

  • Proficiency in applying statistical methods and data processing packages, like Python and R, is a plus

  • Demonstrated experience uncovering useful consumer insights with the ability to shift from the details to the big picture seamlessly

  • A history of skill and innovation in synthesizing sophisticated findings and storytelling through data and insights

  • Ability to lead and deliver a portfolio of large, multi-disciplinary analytics / research projects with multiple business partners in a dynamic and evolving organization

  • Guide collaborator with experience working across multiple functions and levels of leadership concurrently

  • Ability to influence and connect with transparency across a variety of partners

  • Demonstrated ability to independently produce & deliver compelling presentations; data visualization and keynote skills preferred

  • End-to-end project management skills with strong ability to lead working teams made up of internal and external partners

  • Previous experience with primary research methodologies and consumer segmentation preferred

  • A high degree of curiosity, and a passion for sport and youth culture

We are looking for a consumer-obsessed change agent, who is a passionate about investigating, understanding and articulating consumer behavior, seamlessly translating sophisticated analytics into concise stories that advise and encourage action! They need to be adept at synthesizing quantitative and qualitative data from a variety of sources to advise brand positioning, fuel merchandising, planning and marketplace decisions, craft strategic direction, and build business growth. The right fit will thrive as an individual contributor in a fast paced, highly sophisticated offense and organization. This person needs to have a strong voice and excel at collaboration and integration across functions at the Geo and Global levels. Ultimately, they are the lead consumerist for NA Womens Future Fitness, responsible for ensuring the organization understands and is serving the needs of active women today and into the future.

What you will work on

In this role, you will be the consumer insights face to the North America Womens Future Fitness team. You will develop and deliver the Future Fitness insights learning agenda, prioritizing work aligned to key business objectives. Identify what we need to learn, develop and deliver the relevant analyses, and turn insights into important ideas by wiring them into and across functional partners. Your approach and toolkit will balance qualitative and quantitative methodologies. Collaborate with your Mens/Womens/Kids/Jordan Insights counterparts, as well as internal data science, analytics and research functions to answer strategic questions and deliver a robust and comprehensive understanding of the consumer! Understand how different methodologies complement one another, and which critical questions are best served by each. The work will inform merchandising and marketplace decisions, brand positioning and seasonal marketing, as well as global concept development.

Responsibilities:

  • Resolve the approach and drive delivery of insights for the NA Womens Future Fitness team that are aligned to business priorities and shape plans across product, brand marketing, and marketplace.

  • Be a key voice and leader for the NA Womens Insights team, driving a holistic understanding of the Womens consumer in NA through the lens of priority consumer segments.

  • Drive an ongoing portfolio of projects in partnership with various teams including NA Direct Analytics, Commercial Analytics, Marketing Science as well as Global Consumer Research teams.

  • Synthesize and deliver a multidisciplinary set of qualitative and quantitative findings to key partners at key moments throughout the go-to-market process.

  • We communicate useful insights to the Womens Future Fitness team, specifically, and the NA Womens team more broadly, to inform strategy and plans through qual/quant synthesis and compelling/visual storytelling

  • Proactively identify and develop new opportunities/ white space in Future Fitness.

  • We partner with the internal Consumer Research team and/or external agencies, in order to design and deliver research projects.

Who you will work with

As the NA Womens Future Fitness Insights lead, you will be an integral part of the team based in Nike NAs Headquarters in Beaverton, Oregon and will report directly to the Sr. Director, Womens Insights. Given your focus on Future Fitness, you will be based in Los Angeles to partner closely with the NA Womens Future Fitness Go-to-Market senior business lead. You will partner with multiple groups across the NA Consumer Insights function, including Nike Direct Analytics, Marketing Science, Commercial Analytics, Reporting and Data Enablement as well as with external agencies and business partners in Product Merchandising, Planning, Brand Marketing, Sports Marketing, Strategy and Finance.
